Using LivingSoil to make Compost Tea

Making a highly active beneficial compost tea is easy

LivingSoil Inoculant  is a convenient dry formulation that contains a diverse range of beneficial microbes, biological foods, humic compounds plant hormones derived from composts / vermicomposts.

These organisms are safely protected in biogenic silica. When stored in a shady cool place away from drying air a long shelf life is possible.

When packed LivingSoil weighs 8kg but after storage and maturity it may weigh only 5kg due to moisture loss.  Therefore it is suggested that a volume measurement of 1.5 litres of the crumbled LivingSoil to every 100 litres of brew be used.

The following beneficial microbes were included in making LivingSoil:

Azotobacter chroococcum

Azotobacter vinelandii

Azosprillum brasilense

Bacillus subtilis

Bacillus megaterium

Bacillus licheniformis

Cellulomonas cellosea

Chaetomium spp.

Metarhizium anisopliae

Pseudomonas fluorescens

Pseudomonas putida

Pseudomonas stutzeri

Polyangium cellulosum

Streptomyces albidoflavus

Streptomyces cellulosae

Trichoderma viride

Trichoderma harzianum

Trichoderma koningii

  • 10 ml Oresome Antifoam
  • 1.5-2.0 Litres Molasses
  • 700 gm MicroBooster CN30
  • 1.5 Litres LivingSoil Inoculum
  • 200 ml PandA (BioStimulant)

Aerate for 24-48 hours dependent on temperature of the compost tea.

Applications:

General guide for foliar application mix 1:6 to 1:10 with water and wet plant  throughly

Tree crops apply 50 litres /metre of canopy height /hectare.

Example: 4m high canopy x 50L/ha = 200L/ha of compost tea + water.

Broadacre apply at planting in the drill with the seed at 50-100L /ha.

Soil / pasture applications should be no less than 100L/ha, plus sufficient water to wash into mulch layer.

When applying a compost tea it is suggested that 20-30 litres/ha of molasses plus 200ml PandA /100 L be added to the spray tank to provide energy to aid field establishment and to boost indigenous micro-organisms.
